Nestled in the heart of Avon, Colorado, this modern mountain condo started as a crisp, white new build—but our client had a different vision. He wanted something cozier, moodier, and more masculine, with a few playful design moments sprinkled throughout.

Because the home would double as both a personal getaway and a short-term rental, we prioritized comfort, durability, and maximizing sleeping space. In the secondary bedroom, we designed custom queen-over-queen bunk beds with privacy curtains—perfect for guests or a family ski trip.

To bring in that warm, layered mountain feel, we played with a rich mix of textures: plaids, herringbone patterns, and raw, tactile materials. One standout feature? An antique American flag, framed without glass to keep the dimension and character intact.

In the living room, a large wood coffee table anchors the space—ideal for late-night games or fireside lounging. And in the bathrooms, we upgraded builder-grade finishes by adding wallpaper, swapping out mirrors and lighting, and bringing in just the right amount of personality to make them feel custom.
