Commercial Interior Design for an Upscale Furniture Boutique | The Bridge

What was once a tired dollar store became something entirely different: an elevated furniture resale boutique designed to support the mission of The Other Side Academy while redefining expectations around second-hand retail.

This commercial project focused on both interior design and construction coordination, transforming the existing shell into a flexible, inviting shopping experience that feels intentional, organized, and elevated. Thoughtfully planned lighting, open pathways, and a bright material palette help showcase the curated furniture collection while allowing the merchandise itself to remain the focal point.

Flexibility was a key driver throughout the design process. Movable partitions and adaptable storage solutions allow the space to evolve alongside changing inventory, seasonal displays, and new arrivals without sacrificing functionality or flow.

To help establish a stronger street presence, bold exterior colors and a custom storefront experience were designed to draw people in and create a memorable first impression.

The result is a retail environment that supports sustainability, community impact, and everyday function — proving thoughtful design can help tell a bigger story while creating spaces people genuinely want to spend time in.
